About Dam Ninh Binh Fertilizer
On May 10, 2008, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai launched the construction of the Ninh Binh Urea Fertilizer Plant in the Khanh Phu Industrial Park, Yen Khanh District, Ninh Binh Province, with a total investment of 667 million USD (over 13,000 billion VND). The plant's designed capacity is 560,000 tons of urea per year (1,760 tons per day), making it the largest project of the Vietnam Chemical Group (Vinachem) at that time.
On November 18, 2011, the Ninh Binh Urea Fertilizer Plant One Member Limited Liability Company (Ninh Binh Fertilizer) was established with a charter capital of 2,500 billion VND and approximately 1,000 employees.
After months of hard work, technology transfer, and learning, in March 2012, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung attended the ceremony to welcome the first ton of urea from the plant, marking an important milestone for Vinachem and the Vietnamese fertilizer market. The presence of the Ninh Binh Urea Plant, alongside previous urea plants, played a crucial role in ensuring the annual supply of urea for domestic agricultural production and boosting urea exports globally.
According to fertilizer dealers, Ninh Binh urea is known for its uniform, white, transparent granules that dissolve slowly, with a nitrogen content of over 46.3%. This has earned the trust of farmers, who are increasingly using it.
